Houthis latent threat to attack Somaliland in retaliation to UAE Presence

With their fully-driven animosity over the political options to bring peace in Yemen, Houthis rebel unfolds of their accumulated potency to attack Somaliland’s port. Despite the continuing looms of factions among the rebels, the Houthis militants announced on December 27 of such plans thus to counter United Arab Emirates military retaliation from the leased lands of the autonomous region of Somalia—Somaliland.

By denouncing that Iran has been supplying them with middle-range missiles thereby to attack targeted countries, the militants warned Somaliland in their briefed message. Being one of the main architects of the ongoing civil-war in Yemen since 2015, the Houthis reject Mansur Hadi’s leadership, a Saudi-led supported president who reportedly fled to the Arabian Kingdom on 25 March 2015 and returned again in September of the same year.

China Global Television Network (CGTN) reporter from Somalia, Abdelaziz Bilow, yesterday affirmed of the message by the Houthis opposed to Somaliland’s collaboration with UAE in a war against them. Somaliland and UAE however chose silence regarding the warning from Houthis.
