Amazing achievements - Young Eritreans by heritage are embarking on great success stories in the international athletic arena.
Paulos Asgodom had a brilliant run at the BUCS XC Championships to finish 2nd - an excellent start to a big year.
H.E. Estifanos Habtemariam, Eritrean Ambassador to UK & Ireland, received and encouraged the Eritrean young athlete who had a brilliant run at the BUCS XC Championships.
Paulos Asgodom, is an Eritrean-born British long distance runner, he is the 2017 BUCS silver medalist in the marathon and finished in fourth place in the 2016 Watford Cross Country. He has already turned his attention to using the inspiration of Ghirmay G/S to establish his own name as one of the greatest distance runners in British athletics.
He said;- “My ambition is to be a champion man. I hope to break some of the world records that currently are held by previous athletes, he is planning to go Eritrea in the next couple of days for extensive training. “Of course I hope with all my heart to represent Eritrea in international competition in the future.
Judging from the results this past year, many of Eritrea’s young runners are on the brink of international acclaim.
Young Eritrean Athlete have been outstanding citizens with good values. It is within that spirit that the Embassy of Eritrea to UK & Ireland wants to share their stories with you.
We will continue to inspire and uplift so that more and more young athletes in every sport, young professionals are doing their share to help build a better world and contribute to their land of origin ERITREA.
