U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs visits Eritrea

U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs, Dr. Shannon Lee Smith is currently visiting Eritrea, according to Prof. Iqbal Jhazbhay, South Africa's Ambassador to Eritrea.

A Dinner at US Embassy Official Residence in honor of Dr. Smith was held yesterday evening in Asmara.

The reason behind her visit is not clear. It could be to discuss the Susan Rice and TPLF orchestrated COI report on Eritrea, or she could be there to discuss the recent TPLF aggression against Eritrea.
