Meeting held to discuss the past “International Women’s day”, preparations for Eritrea’s 25th Independence Day celebrations

Toronto, April 3rd 2016 – A meeting held by the Toronto branch HAMADE to discuss the assessment of the past “International Women’s day” and the preparations for Eritrea’s 25th Independence Day celebrations.
The meeting was attended by the Consul General (Mr. Tuemezghi Tesfa), The Head of Consular Affairs (Mr. Ahmed Iman) and members of N.U.E.Ws (ሃ.ማ.ድ.አ) from Toronto and in its environs.
Mr. Teumezghi the (Consul General) gave members an insights about the preparations of this year’s independence festivities that will take place both inside and abroad, further stated a series of programs are scheduled for the Eritrean community here in the city of Toronto, environs and across Canada in order to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Eritrea as it is a milestone event. Hence; the meeting extensively discussed the preparations that are underway in full force under the theme “Quarter of Century of Resilience and Development”.
Furthermore, Mr. Ahmed Iman the (Head of Consular Affairs) briefed the participants during the meeting, in regards the teleconference held with the president of “National Union of Eritrean Women” Mrs. Tekea Tesfamichael; about the framework of N.U.E.W’s in Canada.
The members of the National Union of Eritrean Women branch in Toronto have emphasize readiness to enhance role towards ensuring women’s active participations in State affairs on the basis of higher organization and especially on the coming event of 25th anniversary of Eritrea.
The Hamade members and the communities across Canada at large are preparing by taking the necessary steps for the historic celebrations with patriotic enthusiasm
