American Cultural Center in Asmara will be re-opening

The relocated American Cultural Center will finally be opening the first week of October.

The U.S. Embassy is pleased to announce that in early October, we will be RE-opening our new American Cultural Center, in Geza Banda in a spacious building formerly occupied by the Embassy of Sudan. The new location replaces the American Center formerly situated in the Eritro-German Building. The larger building will allow the U.S. Embassy to expand its cultural and educational programs that help build friendship and long-term relationships on a people to people basis.

Some media sources have erroneously posted reports and speculation that the U.S. Embassy was moving or somehow re-opening (even though the Embassy has never been closed!).
