Video: 7 Ethiopian Air Force Members Disappeared
Seven Ethiopian Air Force members, including two pilots, have disappeared, according to the Ethiopian Satellite Television (ESAT).
The Amsterdam-based news network says the missing air force members left with all their equipment, and were from the Dire Dawa Air Force base in Eastern Ethiopia.
In order to prevent further air force defections, ESAT said the Ethiopian regime has brought in Russian mercenaries to fly their military aircraft.
ESAT did not say which country the pilots may have deserted to, although it's highly likely to be Eritrea.
Within the last 12 months, at least 14 Ethiopian Air Force pilots (not including technicians) have defected to Eritrea, bringing along with them a number of multi-million dollar military machines.
