ReplyDeleteActually, the Gondars are not Amharas. They are just Gondars. Amharas are other people. But for a reason I do not know, the current administration calls them Amharas. A grave historical mistake. For the record, the word Gondar comes from two Tigrigna words( ጐንደር=ጐነይ ሕደር=ኣብ ጐነይ ሕደር). This word was coined by Tigraian monks.
