Eight Ethiopian Air Force Pilots Defected in October
A total of eight Ethiopian Air Force pilots have defected this month, according to a senior Eritrean official.
The official didn't specify if the pilots defected to Eritrea, or if they managed to flee the country with their aircrafts, though it is highly likely they did in both cases.
The defections come as reports indicate the Ethiopian Air Force is in shambles, and that the TPLF oligarchs are "disgusted" by their poor performances.
Ethiopia is no stranger to high-profile air force defections. Last year, four Ethiopian helicopter pilots and a MiG-23 pilot defected to Eritrea.
The names of the helicopter pilots are Cap. Aklilu Mezene, Cap. Tilahun Tufa, Cap. Getu Worku and Cap. Biniam Gizaw, while the name of the MiG-23 pilot is Daniel Yeshewas.

The senior official doesn't know if the pilots have defected to Eritrea or not, he doesn't even know if they fled with their air crafts or not.....what a great official! ReplyDeleteA big blow to the weyane tyrants if this is true. We don't have any credible source confirming this news as Eri-TV has not shown any footage of them arriving in Eritrea and giving their story (which is what one would expect of course).
ReplyDeleteMadote is of course not credible because the last time it reported on a defection it was the denial that Ali Abdu defected. This site even falsely claimed that he arrived back safely in Asmara. Furthermore this site did not mention the numerous defections of Eritrean pilots to Saudi (Luul Gebreab, Rahwa Gebrekristos etc.), nor did it comment on the situation with Dejen Ande Hishel.

As to mr. Hadgu: capsized. As for the young Dejen, his name will always mean MIGHTY EPLF, and nothing else.

ReplyDeleteThere have been numerous Eri-TV reports on a handful of Ethiopian soldiers crossing the border into Eritrea and defecting. Reports where they would show four or five supposedly Ethiopian soldiers still in their uniforms explaining the reason they defected. And here we have a supposed case of no less then eight pilots defecting (possibly including their aircraft) and no pictures of them and their aircraft is shown. Not even a single report on Eri-TV or Hadash Eritrea? Off course not.
ReplyDeleteWe all know what would happen if this story was true. Eri-TV would start this as the first news item in their evening news broadcast. They would show footage of all the aircraft and pilots. They would hold extensive interviews with the pilots, where they would get all the time they needed to explain why they defected and how bad the Ethiopian regime is.
The fact that this did not happen should be a clear indication that this story is bogus. Unlike the story of Eritrean pilots defecting to Saudi Arabia, like Rahwa Gebrekristos or the numerous other pilots defecting. I wonder why this site never mentioned those defections.
