Meb Kiflezghi the Boston Marathon Winner visits the Permanent Mission of Eritrea to the United Nations

On Monday 28th April 2014, New York and Boston Marathon Winner and Olympic Sliver Medalist Meb Kiflezghi of Eritrean American Nationality visited the Permanent Mission of Eritrea to the United Nation in New York. Meb was congratulated on his tremendous accomplishments by the Mission staff and the Permanent Representative of Eritrea to the UN, Ambassador Girma Asmerom.
During his visit Meb Kiflezghi said "My message beings has to remember and reflect where they came from, where they are, and where they are going, that is why I'm proud to be an American of Eritrean origin". Meb also said "If you are focused, dedicated, disciplined and humble you will definitely achieve whatever you do and want to do in life". He thanked Ambassador Girma and the Mission staff for the warm Eritrean reception and greetings they accorded to him and his brother and manager Mr. Merhawi Kiflezghi.
Ambassador Girma on his part thanks Meb Kiflezghi for visiting the mission and wished him luck in his future endeavors.

The following day after winning the Boston Marathan (the biggest racing event in America), Meb visited the Eritrean community center in Boston to celebrate.

He is a good role model not just to Eritreans but to all young people around the world. He is a portrait of discipline, perseverance and hard work. He embodies the best Eritrean qualities We are proud of him.
ReplyDeleteHaving said that, as an Eritrean-American athlete who has succeeded and achieved world-wide fame, I hope he is interested in improving Eritrean-American relations. He received a phone call from President Obama following his Boston Marathon win. I hope he befriends the president and gets to talk to him what the truth is regarding Eritrea and the region as well as the undemarcated border.
