"No injuries to people were reported" This is important thanks God. Otherwise, our next future buildings and infrastructures should be designed so that they resist against possible earthquakes..as we are on the rift valley zone.
ReplyDeleteIn addition to sound buildings, the Eritrean government needs to educate the masses about earthquakes and why they happen.
ReplyDeleteEritrea will continue to see more earthquakes, let's just hope they are all under magnitude 5.0. We receive more earthquakes than any country in the Horn of Africa. Our land is being split apart by shifting tectonic plates.

ReplyDeleteRobel perhaps you don't fallow TV Ere as much, but Eritrean citizens are well aware what Earthquake is all about and the harm that can lead to.In a near future hopefully we will have a weather man dedicated to do just that as in the SD city you live in.
ReplyDeleteYou're right, Awareness is never enough, luckly in Our Country building constraction is a well rooted issue, infact according to my personal experience in the subject, 1994-2001, all buildings are done respecting what engeneering requires.
