Construction of a mother-child clinic is underway in Keren
Construction of a mother-child clinic in Keren is underway, according to Archemed.org, a non-profit group of German physicians and nurses working in Eritrea.
The project comes just a month after successful talks were held in Asmara with Ms. Amna Nur-Hushien, Eritrea's Ministry of Health and Archemed physicians.
In addition to this clinic, the group says it will help fund other necessary medical infrastructure projects in the country.
Founded in the summer of 2010, Achemed says its goals are to assist sick children in Eritrea and help the country reach its health-related UN Millennium Development Goals.
Yesterday, the Ministry of Health revealed Eritrea has already reached most of its UN MDGs, ahead of its 2015 target date.
Eritrea is one of two countries in Africa expected to meet 7 of 8 MDGs
