Henok Goitom plans to play for Eritrea's national football team
Professional football player Henok Goitom is planning to play for the Eritrean national football team in 2014, according to a source familiar with the situation.
Henok, who is currently playing for the Swedish AIK Fotboll club, also said he will try to convince Walid Atta, another professional football player of Eritrean origins, to play for the Eritrean squad.
It is to be recalled, Henok first indicated to the BBC that he was interested in playing for Eritrea's national football team in 2010.
Tesfaye gebreyesus, the President of the Eritrean National Football Federation, is also in talks with Golgol Mebrahtu, a professional Australian-Eritrean football player to play for the country's national team.
Meanwhile, Eritrea's national football team, nicknamed the Red Sea Camels, arrived in Kenya to take part in the 2013 Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup.
