Construction of two modern colleges are underway in Eritrea
Construction of two colleges located in Mai Nefhi and Hamellamo are underway, according to a report published by Dr. Tadesse Mehari, the Executive Director for the National Board for Higher Education in Eritrea.
The project will include a new library, four laboratories and a master plan campus for the Eritrea Institute of Technology, while the Hamelmallo Agricultural College will receive laboratories, lecture hall and office complex buildings.
The project, which is funded by the Africa Development Bank and the Eritrean government, is part of a larger goal to turn the seven colleges in the country into full-fledged universities so more students can gain access to higher education.
It is to be recalled, in 2010, Eritrea inaugurated the College of Science and Arts in Adi Keih. Costing over US$17 million to construct, the college can accommodate 2,500 students in different fields of study.
