Eritrea's Abrar Osman Wins Gold Medal

At the 2010 Youth Olympic Games (YOG) Abrar Osman of Eritrea won the gold medal in the men’s 3,000 meter competition held in Singapore. Finishing at a blazing 8:07.24, Osman took first place, while runner up Fekru Jebesa of Ethiopia, who had been favored to win the event, clinched second with a time of 8:08.53. Coming in very close behind Jebesa was Hicham Sigueni of Morroco, who took third with a time of 8:08. 55. Meanwhile, in the female's 3,000 meter competition, Samrawit Mengisteab of Eritrea manged to win the bronze medal.
